Megan Munro
Welcome to the website of Megan Munro.
I am a queer, disabled artist living on the unceded lands of the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people, sometimes known as Canberra, the capital of the country known as Australia.
I make artworks that reflect my life and identities as a queer and disabled person. I also perform when I can, mostly drag and burlesque or a hybrid of both. My drag personas are Sparklemuffin and Mena Paws. I've been performing for 18 years.
I have also produced a few variety type shows and will soon be producing The Queer Variety Show, that will feature queer and disabled performers. You can find information about that here.
I won the ACT Chief Minister's Inclusion Award in 2022 for Excellence in Making Inclusion Happen.
I am currently planning to start work on a multi-disciplinary digital work, which will be an autobiographical, screen based work that will feature my artwork, my various acts and it will have a sound track of Canberra based musicians.
My website is a work in progress. I am currently updating sections, adding sections and generally making it more accessible for disabled people.
