Welcome to the website of Megan Munro.
I am a queer, disabled artist living on the unceded lands of the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people, sometimes known as Canberra, the capital of the country known as Australia.
I make bespoke art works under the brand of Arachne Art. These pieces are fun, commercial pieces, which I enjoy making that don't really have any purpose other than to bring joy and beauty to the world.
My other art includes visual art pieces, writing, and performance. I'm currently about to embark on new work that will tie these ways of working together. I will be using social media platforms and my website to do this. People and systems keep trying to put me in boxes and my work in boxes, however my work is multi-disciplinary and blurs boundaries.
My website is a work in progress. I am currently updating sections, adding sections and generally making it more accessible for disabled people.
Arachne Art was launched in 2018 by artist Megan Munro and specialises in crochet curiosities and textile treasures. Each item is an original design, conceived and made by Megan. Megan puts much love in the making of their treasures, and does not use patterns made by others.
Let me help you put precious memories and ideas into a tangible piece of bespoke art. Contact me to find out how I can help you.
Megan is currently working on attaching a shop to this web page, where you can purchase unique creations.
Megan is also a performer, performing as a drag king and drag thing. See images of my performance by clicking on the gallery links, in the menu above.
